Installing Bitdefender results in poor performance when using MS Access databases

Overview

After installing Bitdefender you may experience poor performance if connecting to an MS Access database.

Solution

To resolve the issue uncheck the “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)” option under Ethernet Properties.

To do this:

  • Go to Network and Sharing Centre.
  • Click Ethernet link. Note: This will be the link adjacent to connection under Access type.
  • From Ethernet Status dialogue select properties.
  • Locate the above option and ensure it is unchecked.

Note: a reboot may be required.

There may be further environmental factors that will need further attention to resolve the issue.
