AI Module; AI Services could not be used unless the Cost Centres Add-On was enabled
The AI Module could not be configured or used on a database that did not have the Cost Centres Add-On enabled. Setting up an AI Service (for example, Anthropic) with an API key on a database without the Cost Centres Add-On failed with the error "No Global Cost Centre was found." AI Record Insights, AI file summaries and other AI features were all affected.
The AI Module is a separately-licensed Add-On and is expected to run off the always-present Global Cost Centre without requiring the Cost Centres Add-On, exactly as every other Cost-Centre-backed Service does.
The cause was that the Service Type and Cost Centre resolution for an unspecified AI Service Type only retrieved the Global Cost Centre when the Cost Centres Add-On was licensed. As AI requests almost never specify a Service Type, this path was the common one, and with the Add-On off the Global Cost Centre was never retrieved.
This has been corrected so that the Global Cost Centre is always retrieved. The Branch and Entity Cost Centre precedence continues to apply only when the Cost Centres Add-On is licensed.
