NZ Address database; clicking on "Postcode" lookup button may incorrectly display "Information in the Address database has expired"

The Address Postcode lookup button may incorrectly display "Information in the Address database has expired" - when it appears the address database is not expired.

This can occur if the address database has information imported from another country, i.e., Australia.

To recreate:

  • Create an address database in a NZ database which is licensed for Full Addressing
    • Import full address file.
  • Open the same address database in an AU database.
    • Import short address file (just contains suburbs).
  • If you open the address database (in MS Access) you should see:
    • AddressListHead table, Country = NZ
    • AddressShortListHead table, Country = AU
  • In your NZ database, Admin, Postcodes and Addressing
    • Click Address Lookup
    • Enter an address and click the Postcode lookup button.

This causes the issue described.

finPOWER Connect now displays the message "Information in the Address database could not be initialised." instead of an expiry message.

To fix:

  • Open the address database in the NZ database
    • Import the full address file again. This also overwrites the Short (Suburb) List.
  • Remove the address database from the AU database.
