Portals; Running on an MS Access database (not supported); error "Could not update; currently locked."

When running a Portal against an MS Access database (not supported but convenient for testing), one of the following may occur, either of which may require a restart of the Web Server and/ or any desktop version of finPOWER Connect accessing the database.

  • The error "Could not update; currently locked." is returned
  • The error "InitialisationFailed" is returned

Work has been done to minimise these errors however, since running Portals on an MS Access database in a production environment is not supported, these errors should only arise in Portal development in certain situations and are therefore considered more of an annoyance than anything more severe.
