Forgotten Password (Password Reset form) did not display a meaningful error message when the password change failed

When entering an invalid password (of other invalid information) into the Password Reset form after receiving a Password Reset email, the error message displayed did not include full information, it just contained the text "Failed to update User Password".

The follow error details are now shown as an alert message box.

Other updates include:

  • If "Enter a new password" and "Confirm new password" fields do not match, a warning is now shown. Previously input focus was set to the "Confirm new password" field with no warning.
  • All input fields have been flagged with an autocomplete="new-password" attribute which should prevent password managers and browsers from auto-populating them (this is dependent on the web browser or password manager from respecting this attribute).
