Strong Passwords; amended logic behind strong passwords and inclusion of symbols
Currently there are some inconsistencies between Strong passwords and Symbols. This area has been tidied up so that the Global Setting is more specific about how the "Include Symbols" for a Strong password is applied.
Previously Global Settings, General group, Formatting page included the section:
Define auto-generated Strong Password options.
- Include symbols? (!@#$%^&*.?~()-+=\/,<>;:)
- Exclude easily confused letters? (i,I,l,L,o,O,q,Q)
This has been amended to:
Define Strong Password options.
- Must include symbol characters? !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~
- Exclude easily confused letters when auto-generating Passwords? i,I,l,L,o,O,q,Q
Therefore, when "Must include symbol characters" is ticked, a Strong password must include at least one symbol. When auto-generating a password at least one symbol is included if the Password is set to Strong.
In addition, the default value for new databases for "Must include symbol characters?" is True (previously false).
