Xero Accounting Interface; updated how Tax Type is sent through for GST

The Xero Accounting Interface has been updated to send through the Description of the GST Code, rather than the Code itself - for the Xero Tax Type.

This is because the GST Code in finPOWER Connect is limited to 5 characters, whereas Xero requires Tax Types of "GSTONIMPORTS", for example.

Note, most Finance Companies do not use GST, i.e. the "Use Goods and Services Tax?" on the GL and Accounting page of Global Settings will be unchecked. In this case the Tax Type is NOT sent to Xero, and the default in the Xero Chart of Accounts is used.

Please make sure you carefully configure your Xero Chart of Accounts and finPOWER Connect, using guidance from your Accounting advisor.
