When running under Web Services, accessing a User's Documents folder may fail

When running under Web Services, e.g., attempting to retrieve a Client Summary page from finPOWER Connect Cloud, the following error may occur:

Could not find special directory 'My Documents'.

This happens under the following conditions:

  • Web Services is not configured to use a Web Configuration (from which the Document Manager path is typically configured)
  • User Preferences does not define a Documents Folder
  • Global Settings does not define a Documents Folder
