Summary Pages and HTML Widgets; External resources such as Google Maps and Google Charts may not work as expected

Depending on a Client's networking setup, JavaScript which refers to external libraries fails to load and execute.

For example, when using Google Charts, an external library to generate the chart. While this may run correctly from a Web Browser, it may not when run from within finPOWER Connect.

One reason for this is that network security is configured to prevent Scripts loaded from external sources from running.

Since, within finPOWER Connect, Summary Pages are often not loaded directly from a page (i.e., their address will be "about:blank"), Internet Explorer (which Windows uses to present HTML in applications such as finPOWER Connect) may block these Scripts.

To fix this, do the following:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Press "Alt" to display menus
  3. Select Tools, Internet options
  4. From the "Advanced" tab, ensure "Security", "Allow active content to run files on My Computer" is checked
  5. From the "Security" tab:
    1. Select "Internet" and click the "Custom level..." button
    2. Ensure that the "Scripting", "Active scripting" option is set to "Enable"
  6. From The "Security" tab:
    1. Select "Trusted sites" and click the "Sites" button
    2. Add "about:blank" to the list
