Account Disbursements (and others); masked Bank Account Number shows "Invalid character '*'" error

In the Account Disbursements drilldown form, masked Bank Account Numbers show an "Invalid character '*' in Bank Account number." error in the information box.

The Account Number is masked and not invalid.

NOTE: This issue occurs in Australian databases.
