emPOWER System Requirements

Supported Microsoft Windows Operating Systems

emPOWER can operate on Windows XP (32-bit), Vista (32 or 64-bit), Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit), Windows 8 (32 or 64-bit) or Windows 10 (32 or 64-bit) operating systems.

Minimum: Windows XP with Service Pack 3.
Recommended: Windows 7.

Older versions of Windows operating systems are not supported. See Microsoft Product Lifecycle Information for more information.

Memory (RAM)

Minimum: 1GB RAM.
Recommended: 2GB RAM or more on 64-bit operating systems.

Display Resolution

Minimum: 1024 x 768.
Recommended: 1280 x 1024 or higher.

Network

emPOWER is only designed to operate on and is only tested with Microsoft Window's networking.

Microsoft Office

emPOWER uses Microsoft Office in some of its functions. Microsoft Word is used for the generation of invoices, statements and letters, and therefore is central to the operation of emPOWER. Microsoft Excel may be used to analyse data and produce custom reports within emPOWER. Microsoft Access may be used for advanced database queries and reports.

Minimum: Microsoft Word 2000.
Recommended: Microsoft Office 2007.

Access (Jet) databases

Access Database files must be stored on a robust Windows operating system file server.

Recommended maximum total users: 10.
Recommended maximum database size: 200MB.

Microsoft SQL Server databases

The emPOWER SQL Server Add-On allows emPOWER to open and use Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 and 2012 databases.

Microsoft SQL Server requires "SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode" to be turned on. For more information see SQL Server Notes.

Recommended: SQL Server 2012 running on its own dedicated Server.

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is not recommended. See Microsoft Product Lifecycle Information for more information.
