Tasks View Future Dating

Thursday, 27 February 2020 by Paul Hammond

The Tasks view in finPOWER Connect Cloud can now show Tasks "as at" a specific date.

For example, you may wish to see what Tasks (e.g., Accounts to review) are not due just yet but will be due by the end of the week.

Our online demo lets you check out the latest build of finPOWER Connect Cloud.

NOTE: This is regularly updated to show new features and may not match screenshots shown in this article.

Overview

As of version 3.03.00 of finPOWER Connect Cloud, a new calendar button has been added to the bottom of the Tasks view. By default, this has the caption "Today":

Clicking the button allows you to choose a different "Date as At":

The button's caption is changed to the new date (which is also displayed below the Tasks heading):

Note: In the above example, the overdue days (O/D Days) are relative to the Tasks view date, i.e., 29/02/2020.

Pinning to the Records View

The top of the "Select Date As At" form has a checkbox to "Open as a tab in the Records view".

Checking this before selecting the date will open a copy of the Tasks view in the Records view. From here, the view can be pinned so that it is opened every time you sign in:

And, because the "Date as At" is relative to the current date, and "End of February" was selected, this pinned version of the Tasks view will always appear correct, e.g., when we are in March, the date will change to read "31/03/2020".
