fdPOWER 5.02.22 Released

We are pleased to announce the release of fdPOWER Version 5.02.22.

With the passing of the Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Act 2013 in New Zealand recently, there will be some changes to the EDI registration process in fdPOWER. The new Act allows adoptions by same sex parents, so the corresponding Birth Certificates and Death Certificates now need to reflect this.

Terminology for the registration of Deaths changes from Mother and Father to Parent 1 and Parent 2 and the relationship to the deceased must now be recorded. Parent 1 can be Mother or Father, and Parent 2 can be Mother, Father or Other.

From the 19th of August, 2013, BDM will only accept the new version of the Death Notification online file format.
