Quick Search 2; Now supports indexing and searching of Bank Account and Credit Card Numbers

A new option on the Global Settings form, General, Search page, allows Bank Account and Credit Card Numbers to be indexed for searching.

This new option is disabled by default since allowing searching on Bank Account or Credit Card Numbers is discouraged.

Once enabled/ disabled, it is recommended that you use the "Rebuild ALL Indexes" button to ensure indexes are added or removed.

This includes an Account's Payment Details (Accounts form, Payments page) and a Client's Bank Accounts (Clients form, Tax & Banking page).

Searching can only be performed on the FULL Bank Account or Credit Card Number and is NOT included in the "Search as you type" function in finPOWER Connect Cloud. The value being searched can include formatting, e.g.:

• 4992 7720 3245 6722
• 4992772032456722

NOTE: All banking details within finPOWER Connect are encrypted and, in the case of searching, hashed values are used, thereby avoiding ever storing plain-text bank details.
