NZ PPSR Service; updated for new Cloud-based API platform
During 2022, MBIE is changing their underlying API technology with a new Cloud-based API platform. The old API is scheduled to be decommissioned at the end of February 2023.
This change involves re-registering subscriptions for the various APIs. The Subscriptions must then be configured in finPOWER Connect.
NOTE: One of the key differences are there are now separate Subscriber Keys for each API and the API URL Endpoints have changed. In addition the "version" of each API has been incremented.
You have the option to use either the old or new API - this will help you test and move to the new API when ready.
To use the new Cloud-based API you need to register for the new APIs at https://portal.api.business.govt.nz/ (previously https://api.business.govt.nz/). You should use the "Subscription key" method. Once you are approved and have your Subscription Keys continue to update details in finPOWER Connect,
NOTE: As at 2 August PPSR is NOT available. This is scheduled to be updated during September 2022.
To configure, go to Tools, Global Settings, Securities group, PPSR NZ page.
- Check "Use new Cloud-based API?" and enter your Subscriber Key.
- The "Verify" button has been removed.
- Use the "Verify User" and/ or "Verify Org" buttons to test your connection is working as expected.
- The "API Store" URL has been updated if "Use new Cloud-based" API is checked.
- Old API is https://api.business.govt.nz
If using User Preferences you will also need to configure PPSR as User Preferences can override Global Settings.
There are no other changes, the PPSR Security Register and Security Enquiry functionality should work as before.
Note, the Service Log may show the old API version, but since the requests and responses are 100% compatible between the versions this does not matter.
