Attempting to attach an empty text file to a Log gives "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." exception

Attempting to attach an empty text file to a Log (e.g., a new Client Log) gives the following exception:

Failed to update Client Log.

Failed to save Document Manager File from Binary Data.

Failed to write file '[File Name]' from byte array.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

NOTE: The Log is saved and the file still appears in the Document Manager, even though an error occurred.
