Tasks Alert not always taking you to the special "New Tasks Due" view in Task Manager

The "new Tasks" button that appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the Status Bar opens the Task Manager form to a special "New Tasks Due" view.

However, this was not always working reliably, e.g., if you then closed the Task Manager, the button would still appear in the Status Bar but clicking it would no longer take you to the "New Tasks Due" view.
