Documents; running a Document of Type "Account" and File Type "Word Document" in Standalone mode fails

Running a Document of Type "Account" and File Type "Word Document" in Standalone mode fails with the error "Failed to Publish Document '[DocumentId]'. Failed to execute Event Script for Document '[DocumentId]', event 'Publish'. Script execution failed for Script '[DocumentId]'. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.".

This issue was caused by the publish process trying to get the Document date from the Log, when there is no Log.
