SQL Server Database provider; now fails if you try to open an Azure database

Attempting to open a SQL Server "Azure" Database now fails with the message "Microsoft SQL Server Azure databases cannot be opened.".

There are various reasons Azure database are not currently supported, one of them is because Application Roles are not supported.
