finPOWER Connect Cloud Configuration; Theme; Colours; 'Advanced' Theme Colouring added

As part of a major update to the finPOWER Connect Cloud User Interface, the ability has been added to configure more colours.

Previously, under finPOWER Connect Cloud Configuration, Theme, Colours, two colours could be specified:

• Main
• Contrast

These have been recaptioned to:

• Primary
• Secondary

A new checkbox "Use Advanced Theme Colouring?" allows much more control of the User Interface colouring.

If this is unchecked, the configured Main and Contrast colours will be used.

WARNING: The way the Main and Contrast colours are applied is not exactly the same as prior versions of finPOWER Connect Cloud.

The updated finPOWER Connect Cloud theming now uses what is known as a "9 Scale" or "9-Slice Scaling". This means that 9 intermediate colours are generated from a single colour. In this case, 11 colours are generated since the 9 scale used have intermediate values of 50 and 950.

The algorithms used to generate these scales vary between graphic design packages and plug-ins. Therefore, the colours automatically generated (i.e., the values against values such as "theme-primary-100" in the grid are left blank), are very specific to the algorithm used by finPOWER Connect.

These colours can be individually tweaked in the grid. Any colours tweaked in "Normal Mode" will be reflected in "Dark Mode" unless specifically overridden.

Colour configurations can be exported or imported using the "Export" and "Import" buttons above the grid. The "Clear" button will clear all custom values entered into the grid.

A preview to the right of the grid shows how the colours will look in both Normal and Dark modes. Both previews are shown, even if the "Allow 'Dark Mode'? box is unchecked.

Clicking on a coloured rectangle in the previews highlights the appropriate item in the grid.
