Email; Added Microsoft Exchange configuration so OAuth (Modern) authentication can be used

Currently emails are typically sent using SMTP with basic authentication, i.e. a User Name and Password.

Microsoft has recently announced that Basic authentication for Exchange will be disabled in September 2025. For more information see https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange-team-blog/exchange-online-to-retire-basic-auth-for-client-submission-smtp/ba-p/411475.

Therefore this change has been prioritised so that Users have plenty of time to transition before that time.

Configuration for Microsoft Exchange is defined in Global Settings and User Preferences under the Messaging group, Email page. If the credentials are defined here they take precedence over the SMTP settings.

Before configuring in finPOWER Connect you must create an App Registration under Microsoft Entra and add the relevant permissions.
