finPOWER Connect Calendars can now be configured as "Automatic"

Previously, Calendars in finPOWER Connect had to updated manually to ensure that holidays for a specific country and state (where applicable) were respected by the system. This created an overhead that many Finance Companies would rather not have to think about.

For this reason, Automatic Calendars have been implemented into finPOWER Connect.

The Calendar Administration Library now has some additional options:

  • Automate Calendar?
  • Country
  • State (only applicable if the selected Country supports holiday by State)

When configured as automatic, the list of non-working days / holidays will be displayed as read only as an indication of what is coming up, and what has just been. Initially, the following rules will apply:

  • 30 Days of past holidays (from today) will be displayed
  • 3 years of forecasting (from the date 30 days ago) will be displayed

Whilst configured as automatic, holidays calculated by the system cannot be modified or removed. If they must be altered, an Automatic Calendar configuration is not the appropriate one to use. However, additional manual holidays can be added to Automatic Calendars. If added, they appear with an icon in the left hand column of the non-working day grid to highlight them. These manual holidays can be modified / removed as required.
