Forced Test Mode; changes to Email Messaging to make more flexible

The Global Setting, Cost Centre "Force Test Mode" setting is designed to stop the accidental sending of email messages when using your finPOWER Connect database in a test environment.

When "Forced Test Mode" is enabled it is now not possible to send an email to a Client's email address.

Under Global Settings, Cost Centres group, General page the following changes have been made:

  • "Ignore Errors (applies to Messaging Services)?" checkbox has been removed.
  • A new block "Force Test Mode options" has been added. This includes:
    • "Send Email Messages?" check box.
    • "Redirect 'To' Email" email address.

If "Send Email Messages" is unchecked then sending an Email will simply appear to send correctly, i.e. no error is generated, but no email is actually sent.

If "Send Email Messages" is checked and "Redirect 'To' Email" is blank an error is generated noting "Cannot send Email whilst in forced Test Mode. Use the Redirect 'To' Email Global Setting to override.".

If "Send Email Messages" is checked and "Redirect 'To' Email" has an email address defined, the email is sent, but instead of to the Client, for example, it is sent to this redirect email.

This means that, whilst in Forced Test Mode, an email cannot be accidentally sent to a Client.

NOTE: Email CC and BCC recipients are cleared.

In addition, Documents that are sent as email, including Electronic Signatures, have been updated to use the Global setting.

The following Bookmarks have been updated:

  • ESignatureBlock
  • ESignatureBlockCompact

In addition, Credit Bureau requests that include an email address that is used to contact the Client are now overridden to the Global setting. The following services have been updated:

  • RealAML
    • Verify
    • Instant Verify
