Breaking Change

Document Manager; added ability to Rename Files

On forms such as the Client and Account form, the Files page displays Files associated with the item. There is now an option to rename the File within finPOWER Connect.

Below the list of Files a new "Rename" button has been added.

To use, click on the File you wish to rename then click the "Rename File" button. A dialog box will then appear allowing you to change the Name.

Note, as well as the File Name you can also change the File's Category. To do this, enter the Category, followed by "\", followed by the File Name, e.g. "Statements\Loan Statement 20230331.pdf".

The following Permission Keys have been added:

  • Account.Files.Rename
  • AccountApp.Files.Rename
  • Client.Files.Rename
  • SecurityItem.Files.Rename
  • SecurityStmt.Files.Rename
  • User.Files.Rename

These Permission Keys apply to the Business Layer, not just the User Interface.

Note, previously the Business Layer function finDocumentFiles.Rename, which is what is used to rename the Files, used the "*.Files.Add" permission; therefore this change has been flagged as a breaking change.
