Quick Search 2; Now supports hashtags in record Notes

The Global Settings, General, Search page now has an option under "Quick Search (version 2) options" to "Support hashtags in record Notes?".

This currently applies only to the following record types:

  • Accounts
  • Account Applications
  • Clients
  • Security Statements

Hashtags can be defined within the notes as either links to other records, or an arbitrary value you might want to search on, e.g.:

  • Client #C12345 referred this person to us
  • This is a #highrisk Client that we have been contacted about by the #police

You can also use @ to refer to finPOWER Connect Users, e.g.:

  • @ph and @gh have both reviewed this loan

If checked and the database already contains notes with hashtags in then you must click the "Rebuild ALL Indexes" button to make these tags searchable.

When searching, you can either include or exclude the # or @ from the value, e.g.:

  • @ph
  • ph (this would return the actual User record plus any records that have tags referring to it)
  • #C12345
  • C12345 (this would return the actual Client record plus any records that have hashtags referring to it)

In finPOWER Connect Cloud:

  • Search as you type does not search tags
  • Any records returned on the Search view due to tag searches witll:
    • Show either a "#" or "@" icon overlay
    • Show a message above the summary, e.g., "Notes contain the tag @ph"

NOTE: Tags will only be searched if a single search criteria is entered and only if this does not appear to be a value such as an email, date or phone number. However, you can enter multiple criteria, if they are prefixed with either # or @ and records will be returned that contain all of the values.
