Task Groups; Adding items now allows (and encourages) adding a "Task Manager Folder"

Prior to version 4, Task Groups existed only as part of the finPOWER Connect Cloud Tasks view.

With Task Manager 2, they become a way for administrators to configure Task Manager folders for Users on a per-Role or Permission basis.

Therefore, it makes sense that Task Group Items are now "Task Manager Folders". Therefore, the default Add button below the Task Group Items grid is now a folder with an add button overlay which will add a Task Manager Folder.

NOTE: If attempting to add a Task Group Item, you will now need to confirm that this is the intention since Task Group Items pre-date the Task Manager 2 and therefore use of "Task Manager Folders" is encouraged.

The previous Item Types (HTML Widgets and Smart Lists) are still supported but will now generate an information message in the Task Group summary encouraging that they be updated to Task Manager Folders.

Other changes to the Task Group summary shown below the grid include:

  • Caption changes ("Items" instead of "Task Group Items")
  • You can no longer click an item link to edit the item
  • Icon column moved to after Visible column

When editing a Task Manager folder via a Task Group, the following differences appear on the Task Manager Folder Edit wizard:

  • No User is displayed
  • A Permission Key to restrict viewing can be specified

NOTE: Unlike Task Group Items, there is no "Visible" checkbox for Task Manager Folders defined within the Task Group.
