Accounts Reverse Payment; errors with "This payment cannot be rescheduled for a later date."

The Account Payment Reverse wizard may fail with "Failed to reverse Bank Transaction. This Payment cannot be rescheduled for a later date." after clicking Finish.

This occurs if the Payment being reversed is a manually entered Direct Debit payment and the Account does not have a normal Payment Method defined.
