Setup no longers adds Windows Registry entries; these are added when first running finPOWER Connect
The following registry entries which allow finPOWER Connect to use HTML 5 functionality for Summary Pages (KB article #11717) have been removed from the setup program since it was found that certain configurations, e.g., Windows Server 2008 may fail to install and give "Error 1402. Could not open key":
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\finpowerconnect.exe
- REG_DWORD 2AF8
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\finpowerconnect32bit.exe
- REG_DWORD 2AF8
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\finpowerconnect.exe
- REG_DWORD 2AF8
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION\finpowerconnect32bit.exe
- REG_DWORD 2AF8
Now, when finPOWER Connect first start up, it will check for the existence of these registry entries and add them if neccessary. An error will be displayed if they failed to add and it may be neccessary for an Administrator Windows User to sign on and run finPOWER Connect.
A trace warning will be given (a warning icon should show in the status bar) if registry entries failed to add.
Any registry entries that were added will be shown in the Tools, Utilities, Debug Window.
NOTE: If the registry entries fail to configure correctly, certain Summary Pages may not display or function correctly (see KB article #11717).
