Address Links and Summary Pages displaying Google Maps do not function correctly

Changes to both Internet Explorer and Google Maps have caused incompatibilities with the Microsoft Web Browser control used within finPOWER Connect to display maps.

This means that clicking a link to view an Address, e.g., from within the Client Key Details summary page will display a map correctly using Google maps but none of the buttons on the page will function, e.g., you cannot move around the map.

To remedy this issue, a new option has been added to the Global Settings form, Clients, Addressing page to open map application shortcuts in an external browser window.

Another workaround to this problem (until Microsoft and Google make their products compatible) is to use Bing maps. The following URL can be used and has been added to the dropdown lists on the Global Settings form, Clients, Addressing page:

http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&where1=[Address]

The same issue arises when displaying a map in an HTML iframe as per the Client Key Details summary page (when the ShowMap constant is set to True). Unfortunately, changing to use either the Bing or Zoomin URLs under Global Settings does not display nicely formatted map information in the iframe, therefore, if showing embedded maps on summary pages, it is recommended that you continue to use Google maps even with its limitations (since clicking on the map in the iframe will open an external, fully functional, browser window).
