Motorweb; new Alerts mailbox functionality added

A new "Alert" mailbox function has been added to complement the new Motorweb Security Monitoring system. For more information on Monitoring, see knowledgebase article #11443.

The Motorweb Security Monitoring system sends information about Financing Statements to Motorweb so that they can monitor Motor Vehicles. Any alerts Motorweb generates are emailed to you. In addition Alerts can be seamlessly imported into finPOWER Connect via a web service.

Firstly, you need to configure those users that will be responsible for monitoring alerts. This is done through Admin, Users & Responsibilities, Mailbox page. Check the "Can the User access the MotorWeb Mailbox?" option. This means the User can access all of the Mailbox functionality as well as tracking alerts retrieved from Motorweb. You cannot retrieve MotorWeb alerts if no Users are configured with Mailbox access.

The Task Manager will then include system folders for Mailboxes. In addition you can create new folders for Mailboxes. Simply go to one of the Mailbox folders and click "Receive" to download new MotorWeb alerts. New alerts will automatically be linked to the Security Statement and Item based upon the Financing Statement Number and VIN/ Plate, but if there is more than one possibility you are presented with a list of possibilities and can link the alert to one Security Statement.

All the standard Task Manager functionality is available to mailbox items. You might use flags to denote important alerts, or record notes on what was actioned in the flag notes field.

In addition, under the Security menu, there is a "MotorWeb Mailbox" wizard. This allows you to re-download specific dates and see statistics on how many alerts each day includes. Note, alerts include a unique reference, so will not be imported and processed twice.

The Security Item drilldown form includes a new "Mailbox" page for Motor Vehicles. This shows those mailbox items linked to the Motor Vehicle.
