Scripts can now be run at scheduled intervals via an Application Shortcut

Scripts can now be run at scheduled intervals via an 'ScheduledScript' type Application Shortcut.

A new Application Shortcut type of 'Schedule a Script' is now available (available by right-clicking the Task Pane and selecting Add).

This allows the following type of Script to be run on a basic schedule:

  • HTML Report
  • General
  • General (User Interface)
  • Summary Page

HTML Report and Summary Page type Scripts will have their resultant HTML displayed once the Script has run. Other types of Script can use the finBL.DebugPrint method to output status or other messages.

When a Scheduled Script is running, no other activity can take place in finPOWER Connect until the schedule is cancelled or completes. A Schedule Script can only be run when no other forms are open.

A Scheduled Script can be run upon opening finPOWER Connect by configuring the Application Shortcut under User Preferences, Tasks & Workflows, Start Up/Shut Down.

NOTE: Currently Scheduled Scripts can only be run via an Application Shortcut. There is no menu option.
