Account and Client wizards in finPOWER Connect Cloud

Tuesday, 14 November 2017 by Paul Hammond

Certain forms within finPOWER Connect Cloud are fixed, e.g., the Client Log form.

Others forms, however, are implemented as system-supplied HTML Widgets and can be substituted by custom HTML Widgets, thereby allowing an unprecedented level of customisation.

Three new forms are the Account Credit Limit Change, Account Monitor Category Change and Account Statement Change wizards.

Our online demo lets you check out the latest build of finPOWER Connect Cloud.

NOTE: This is regularly updated to show new features and may not match screenshots shown in this article.

Overview

The majority of wizard-style forms in finPOWER Connect Cloud are (or will be in the future) implemented as system-supplied HTML Widgets.

Examples of currently available forms are:

  • Account Application
    • Accept/ Decline wizard
  • Account
    • Credit Limit Change wizard
    • Monitor Category Change wizard
    • Statement Change wizard
  • Client
    • Contact Address wizard
    • Contact Method wizard

Any of these forms can be imported as Scripts via the Import Special, HTML Widget action on the Scripts form in finPOWER Connect.

Once imported, these HTML Widgets provide coding examples. They can then be modified to provide a substitute form that suits your needs.

Configuring Forms

The Menus & Actions section of the finPOWER Connect Cloud Configuration form allows HTML Widgets to be defined via an HTML Widgets grid:

The icon next to the Script allows parameters to be defined, e.g:

Many system-supplied Widgets have parameters that can be configured as per the above screen-shot which shows the available parameters for the Client Contact Address wizard.

Multi-Function Wizards

Certain functionality in the Desktop version of finPOWER Connect involves multiple forms, e.g., when changing an Account's Credit Limit, you typically view the "Credit Limit History" form and then, from here, launch the "Account Credit Limit Change" wizard.

This process is streamlined in many widgets, e.g., the "Account Credit Limit Change" wizard has a "History" button at the bottom left:

Clicking this takes you to a special "History" page in the wizard from which you can click the "Next >" button to exit:
