The Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) is now OPEN!

People, businesses, and organisations who provide a range of financial services in or from New Zealand can now apply to be registered. Financial service providers (with the exception of financial advisers) must be registered on the FSPR by 1 December 2010.

To register on the FSPR, first you will need an igovt logon and be required to set up an FSPR account. Learn more about Using the FSPR on the New Zealand Companies Office website for guidance before you start registering. Training guides are now also available for download to visually step you through the online process, and you can view the process at a glance with their flowcharts.

We recommend you seek independent legal advice if you are unsure whether you or your organisation will be required to register as a financial service provider.

If you still have questions after getting ready to register you can phone the New Zealand Companies Office on 0508 FSPR INFO (0508 377 746) (within New Zealand) or +64 3 962 6162 (international callers). You can also contact other agencies involved in the FSPR.
